As a clinician, Dr. Tom Callanan is a strong supporter of Evidence-Based Practice. Tom keeps up with the latest medical research, has conducted and written a Case Study on Lumbar Spinal Stenosis. His treatment philosophy is very manual based and he takes a hands-on approach toward treating each patient. Tom views each patient as an individual, and recognizes that everyone is different. He focuses on developing individualized treatment plans for each patient and progresses each plan as they advance through therapy. His biggest passion from a clinical standpoint is working with pediatric sports injuries in the orthopedic setting.

Tom’s passion for healing and rehabilitation began with his own personal experiences. While in high school, he had a knee surgery from football and a shoulder surgery from pitching in baseball. Both injuries required extensive rehab, which is where he gained an understanding and compassion for what it takes to experience things from the patient’s point of view.

In his spare time you will find Tom rooting for anything Cubs, Blackhawks or Bears. He is also still very active on the men’s softball fields, hockey rinks, as well as the golf course.
