Dr. Katherine Weiss

Dr. Katherine Weiss, PT, DPT, graduated from University of Iowa in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2007 from Rosalind Franklin University. Prior to becoming a physical therapist she received her associate degree as a physical therapy assistant. She has over 10 years of experience in rehabilitation field.

 

Dr. Weiss’s career has been developing not only her clinical skills but also her leadership skills. She has experiences in outpatient with specialization in overhead athlete program for swimmers, softball and baseball players, etc. In high school and college she swam long distance freestyle and butterfly. Particular areas of interest as her career as grown are in pelvic floor/women’s health and cardiopulmonary issues.

 

Ankle and foot injury are a particular area of interest over the years, she has worked with a diverse patient population. She has worked with patients who have complex medical needs for podiatric care such as diabetes, post surgical, and acute sprains and strains. Patient population varies from young athlete with ankle instability returning to sport, neuroma removal, bunionectomy, arthritic changes etc. for ease with recovery process.

 

In her spare time, Dr. Weiss enjoys spending quality time with husband and daughter, swimming, biking, and participating in outdoor activities with family and friends.
