Dr. Mike Santa Maria, PT, DPT graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences in 2012. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2015. While at UIC, he volunteered with the varsity baseball team’s athletic training staff to help develop rehabilitation protocols for their athletes. He also gained valuable experiences during clinical rotations which involved patients with chronic pain, post-surgical complications, and patients of all age groups.
Throughout his clinical career, Mike has dedicated himself to improving his clinical skills. He is certified with the Titleist Performance Institute as a medical golf professional and is always able and willing to implement golf-specific therapy to patients in order to help them play better and play longer. He has treated golfers with injuries throughout their bodies and of all skill levels.
Mike uses a hands-on approach to treat his patients and believes in one-on-one care. He treats each patient as an individual and tailors a treatment program specific to the patient’s needs. Education is also a large emphasis in Mike’s treatment. He believes that teaching his patients about their ailment or injury is a huge factor in their recovery and gives them the tools to help themselves recover quickly.
In his free time, Mike enjoys playing golf, baseball, and lifting weights. He loves music and plays the drums for a cover band on the weekends. He is always cheering on his favorite Chicago sports teams like the Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks.
