Richard Bigalk, PT, FAAOMPT graduated from the University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School in June of 1992 and has been a licensed Physical Therapist for the past twenty-five years. Since that time, he has practiced in a variety of orthopedic based physical therapy settings. Rich has vast experience in treating general musculoskeletal injuries, sports related injuries, occupational injuries, cumulative trauma, post-surgical care, joint replacements, headaches and chronic pain. He enjoys treating all musculoskeletal conditions especially ones involving the spine and shoulder.
He has continually worked on improving his skills through advanced training:
➢ He became Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy 2002 to 2012
➢ He completed a 2.5-year residency program with The Manual Therapy Institute in 2003
➢ He also completed Fellowship training in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy in 2005.
Rich believes the manual skills and clinical reasoning emphasized in these programs have been of great benefit to the outcomes he achieves with his patients.
Working for Doctors of Physical Therapy has allowed Rich to be part of an exceptional team of therapist striving to improve each other’s skills, allowing them to provide the best care and outcomes possible for their patients.
When Rich is not practicing he enjoys spending time with his wife Dawn and his two children Ian and Morgan. He loves to play golf and enjoys water skiing.
