Dr. Tracy Camaj PT, MPT, DPT, CSCS

Dr. Camaj graduated in 1998 with her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Oakland University in Rochester Hills, MI. Prior to that Dr. Camaj attended Michigan State University where she focused her studies in Medical Technology. She is trained in the Matheson System to perform Functional Capacity Evaluation.

 

Shortly after graduation, she relocated to South Florida where she worked for 7 years in an outpatient orthopedic setting. Camaj worked with a diverse group of orthopedic surgeons, witness orthopedic surgeries and work with a wide variety of patients from athletes to the elderly population. Here she gained experienced in treatment with orthopedic patients who had spine surgery, hip and knee replacements, rotator cuff surgery and ACL reconstruction.

 

While living in South Florida, Dr. Camaj completed her certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and utilized her skills developing strength training and conditioning programs for the general public, particularly for those who had a history of medical problems or orthopedic injuries.

 

Camaj feels that education is an integral part of physical therapy. She shares that with the community by participation in local health fairs and providing educational seminars on a variety of topics from prevention of low back pain, rotator cuff injuries, and osteoporosis. She works with a large number of industrial accounts educating manual laborers on proper posture and mechanics so that they can continue to do their jobs safely and efficiently.

 

Dr. Camaj is Matheson trained to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE). These FCE’s are research based and customized to the injured worker to determine whether or not an individual is ready to return to work. In addition to FCE’s, Dr. Camaj also provides work conditioning programs to assist an injured worker with a smooth transition back to their prior occupation.

 

Camaj completed her doctorate through the University of St. Augustine, one of the most highly respected manual therapy programs in the country. Her focus is on performing manual therapy and mobilizations as an integral part of a complete therapy program.

 

She enjoys spending time with her family and is an avid runner. She has completed the 2012 and 2015 Chicago Marathon and the 2013 Naperville Marathon and plans to continue to do at least one each year.
