Kate Fons

Kate Fons B.S.PT, Dip. MDT graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Physical Therapy from Marquette University in 1990.

In 1997, she attended the McKenzie Institute International Diploma program achieving a Diploma in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy and served as probationary junior faculty for the McKenzie Institute USA in 1998.

Kate worked at St Francis Hospital in Milwaukee from 1990-2005. She specialized in back and neck care and became the senior spine specialist working as mentor and educational coordinator for the spine clinic. She also worked in inpatient rehab, sports therapy, inpatient orthopedics and ICU.

In 2005, she joined an innovative Orthopedic Specialty homecare program at Gentiva Homecare. This program focused on post-op rehab of total joint replacements bringing an inpatient rehab intensity to their own home.

Outside of work Kate has had an extensive performance career in theater, musicals, ballet and modern dance. She was a competitive Scottish Highland dancer from 1998-2016. Since retiring from competition and performing she has focused on expanding her practice of Hatha yoga and Aerial yoga. You can catch her hanging out upside down teaching Aerial in Waukesha on Monday nights.

Kate is blessed to have 2 naughty fur babies Peabody and Daisy who keep her busy with romps in the woods and is the “fun Aunt” to her sisters’ 4 kids taking them camping and throwing overly elaborate theme parties. You might also see Kate toodling around town in her beloved Mini Coopers or even her Pink Hello Kitty Smart car.
