Therapy Before Surgery?
Absolutely! Visiting your physical therapist or certified hand therapist before your surgery (often called pre-habilitation or “pre-hab”) can help speed your recovery time—meaning fewer visits after your operation. Even one pre-hab visit can help with pain and discomfort and provide you with the education you need to feel more confident about your surgery and physical therapy after surgery. “Pre-hab” is an excellent way to help you get better, faster.
Physical therapy and hand therapy can help with the following surgical procedures:

Far exceeded my expectations!
The physical therapy I received was outstanding and far exceeded my expectations! Jim is very patient oriented and committed to helping me to be able to participate in normal activities like walking. He was great in explaining what we were trying to achieve with each of the exercises, stretching, massages, etc. On a scale of 1 to 10 he is definitely a 10+. Thank you for improving the quality of my life!. I will definitely recommend Doctors of Physical Therapy and Jim to anyone I know that needs physical therapy. And when I need the other hip replacement I will be back.
Very courteous and professional
Very courteous and professional, treatment went smoothly and progressed on or above recovery schedule. Received a progressive and extensive at home exercise program which greatly contributed to my recovery. Directions and feedback to and from my attending physcian were excellent, which also contributed to amounts and types of exercises performed for progression to recovery. After completing my PT sessions, I had met or exceeded all goals established druing primary visits.
